February 17, 2017An FDI factory-trained Army Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) successfully trained 27 Army Medical Maintenance and Operating Room Staff members of the 121st Combat Support Hospital located in South Korea. After the training, Maj. Hiram Gonzalez, chief sterilization nurse of the 121st CSH said, “This new equipment not only brings us into the modern age of sterilization, but allows us to operate more efficiently with medical devices that are dependable regardless of the challenging working environment. The P2131 requires minimal maintenance, even in extreme environments. The Water Recovery System helps conserve not only a precious resource, but its durable design ensures that the P2131 operates reliably with every cycle. This will allow us more time to care for troops and save lives.”

January 23, 2017 – FDI receives a new ASME certificate for successfully passing our 3-year recertification audit conducted by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors.

January 11, 2017 – FDI is honored and thankful to receive a new contract from the United States Army for 37 additional P2131 Automated Field Steam Sterilizers. The new P2131 is the only FDA-cleared pre-vacuum steam sterilizer designed for field use.

December 25, 2016FDI is awarded a new ISO certificate for successfully passing our 3-year recertification audit by UL/DQS for ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System.

August 31, 2016 – FDI is once again grateful to receive orders from the United States Air Force for 10 additional P2131 Automated Field Steam Sterilizers. It is an honor for the FDI team to support the brave men and women in the U.S. Military by manufacturing the only FDA-cleared pre-vacuum steam sterilizer designed for field use.

July 25, 2016 – FDI awarded contract for 25 “Sterilizer A-Frames”, which is the Electrical Distribution Panel for the FDA-cleared P2131 Automated Field Steam Sterilizer. The FDI Electrical Distribution Panel is a lightweight mobile power panel used within military field hospitals to safely control and distribute power to various pieces of medical equipment. The SAF-001 is the model used with the FDI P2131 Automated Field Steam Sterilizer and has also been used on the Portable Oxygen Generator (NSN: 6530-01-5833-4481).

July 19, 2016 – The P2131 military steam sterilizer has been highlighted in the latest edition of Combat & Casualty Care magazine, a publication of Tactical Defense Media. On pages 13 and 14, COL David Gibson, Commander of the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Agency, highlights some of the features and benefits of the P2131 Automated Field Steam Sterilizer, including its improved reliability, reduced water consumption, and decreased Total Lifecycle Management Costs (TLMC). The U.S. Army projects a cost savings of $5.7M across the force. In addition, the Army indicates that their full requirement for the P2131 steam sterilizer to be 475 systems. April 28, 2016 – FDI awarded new purchase orders from the United States Army Medical Material Agency for over forty SAF001 Electrical Distribution Panels. This electrical panel, commonly called the “A-Frame”, is used to distribute and control electrical power to two FDA-cleared P2131 Automated Field Steam Sterilizers. The P2131 Sterilizer is the only FDA-cleared pre-vacuum sterilizer designed for austere environments.

April 12-15, 2016 – FDI engineers conduct operational and maintenance training on the P2131 Automated Field Steam Sterilizer for numerous Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine service members at the Air Force Medical Evaluation Support Activity (AFMESA) at Fort Detrick, MD.

March 3, 2016 – FDI awarded new purchase order from the United States Army Medical Material Agency for forty (40) additional P2131 Automated Field Steam Sterilizers.

January 5-6, 2016 – FDI engineers conduct operational and maintenance training on the P2131 Automated Field Steam Sterilizer for Biomedical Equipment Technicians at Tobyhanna Army Depot.

November 12, 2015 – FDI receives no findings on its ISO re-certification audit and is awarded an updated certificate through 9-14-2018.

October 2, 2015 – FDI moves to a new 31,000 s.f. manufacturing facility at 2411 Maremont Pkwy in Loudon, TN in order to ramp up for full scale production of the P2131 Automated Field Steam Sterilizer.

May 28, 2015 – FDI awarded a purchase order from the United States Army Medical Materiel Agency for forty (40) P2131 Automated Field Steam Sterilizers.

May 21, 2015 – U.S. Air Force orders a P2131 Automated Field Steam Sterilizer to showcase at the Air Force Expeditionary Medical System (EMEDS) field hospital at Fort Detrick, MD.   The EMEDS is a permanent test bed used to conduct operational testing of expeditionary medical technologies. The P2131 sterilizer will replace the aged M-138 sterilizer to keep the facility up-to-date for the numerous tours conducted to the entire military medical community.
